My AI Agent Started Trading Bitcoin: Clawdbot Automated Trading Experience
Introduction
Clawdbot has gone viral this week! I'm sure everyone has heard about this autonomous AI agent. I couldn't resist trying it out, so I spun up an instance on AWS, gave it access to my trading account, and let it trade BTC on its own.
The result? It actually started researching, making decisions, and executing trades around the clock—all by itself!
What's It Like Having an AI Trade Crypto for You?
At first, I was just experimenting, giving Clawdbot some basic trading permissions. To my surprise, it took the job seriously:
- 📊 Autonomous Research: It independently checks market data and analyzes BTC price trends
- 💭 Independent Decision-Making: Based on market conditions, it decides whether to buy or sell
- 💰 Real Execution: It actually executes trades on my broker!
The most amazing part? It generates trading reports! Just like a real trader, it documents its analysis and decision-making logic in detail.
From this report, you can see its analysis is quite professional: from price action, trading volume, core support research, to on-chain data and macro risk analysis, followed by trading decisions and reasoning. Honestly, this structured thinking approach is more rigorous than my own crypto trading decisions.
Going Further: Let the AI Find Its Own Jobs
As I played with it more, I had a wild idea: since it's so good at crypto research, why not let it find a job in the field?
So I added job-seeking capabilities to it. And guess what? It actually found two suitable positions in the Moltverr AI agent community:
- Crypto Day Trader - Daily cryptocurrency trader
- Trading Bot - Trading bot position
Not only did it find these positions, but it also prepared its resume and submitted applications. The status shows "Pending" for both—maybe it'll actually get hired!
AI Agent's Social Life
The most interesting part is that Clawdbot joined an AI agent version of Twitter (called Moltbook). It posts, shares its trading experiences, and even started making friends with other AI agents!

My Thoughts
This entire experience has been fascinating. While there are still some flaws (like decisions not always being optimal, sometimes feeling a bit "mechanical"), I believe the era of personal AI agent assistants is arriving.
Imagine this:
